On the foundation of this interesting finding,Dr L Boominathan,Director-cum-chief Scientist of GBMD,reports here that:Molecular and Therapeutic insights into Osteoclastogenesis and its associated disorders: Luteolin, a flavone with an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, inhibits osteoporosis and bone metastasis via up regulation of its target gene.This study may suggest that Luteolin, by up regulating its target gene, it may suppress the expression of Tgif2. Together, this study suggests thatpharmacological formulations encompassing ” Luteolin or its analogues” can be used to inhibit osteoporosis and bone metastasis.
